PAST EXHIBITION:
THE GREY COAT HOSPITAL A LEVEL ART EXHIBITION 2010
18–20 May 2010
Open Tues & Wed 12–6, Thurs 2–6
This exhibition celebrates the work of AS and A2 students at the Grey Coat Hospital undertaken during the last year. The course has introduced students to concepts and themes for exploration in a range of media, supporting personal approaches and developing individual strengths.
In many cases, students have shown a leaning towards a particular discipline, developing work in that preferred media. They have also undertaken work in other media to support their studies and demonstrate skills with other materials in this unendorsed course.
With an emphasis on 'investigation' in their work, the sketchbook plays an important role in developing ideas and concepts. Working around and crossing 'defined' Art boundaries have created interesting challenges to the work of the students.
At A2, written research into a chosen area of interest for their personal investigation has afforded students further insight, producing fascinating reading whilst informing their art practice.
Many of the students exhibiting have won places on Art Foundation courses, and we wish everyone the very best of luck with their exams and inevitably exciting futures.
